Welcome to the Club

Welcome to the Old Games Club!
This site is the successor of Pixelove.net, a French blog dedicated to retrogaming (classic gaming if you prefer), which I animated for over five years.
Pixelove was build around a technical solution that was a pain to maintain and hard to transform: too much effort for an uncertain result… I was somewhat prisoner of technical constraints that made the renovation of the site concept complex and risky.
And then after all these years of regular updates, I must confess that my motivation to publish news on a daily basis had melted like snow in sunshine. I must also say that over time, updating my blog has also become incompatible with my free time.
In fact, I wanted to develop a new site concept: a blog with complementary automated publications to make it more dynamic and living.
So I decided to start from scratch, and developed this new site.
The Old Games Club (OGC for friends) will try to be a worthy successor to the spirit of my first blog, Pixelove, although it differs in many respects:
- OGC is bilingual (French / English) even if I allow myself not to translate most posts (I’ll will try to do it for the news which may appeal to a wide audience).
- Visiting the homepage of OGC is having the insurance to discover each day new screenshots of games picked-up randomly from a database of more than 100000 entries (nearly 30 different systems)! That should please all “large pixels” addicts and I’m sure you’ll discover some obscure or forgotten titles.
- Access to OGC from a smartphone (iPhone…) is supported via a dedicated theme which will improve image display and limit data traffic.
- The interactive capabilities are enhanced: support for nested comments, voting system for images and comments, user registration, embedded Youtube videos for every game page, Twitter and Facebook bookmarking, etc.
Whether you’re interested in the news section, or a visitor who appreciates to regularly discover a great variety of old games snapshots, I welcome you to the Club.
Feel free to send me your comments: contact me.
I hope to see you often!
